The Association "Amis du Suffolk Regiment..." already 20 years old...!
In 1989, Mrs. LENAULD, a resident of Colleville-Montgomery, donated to the Suffolk Regiment a parcel of land containing several bunkers. On one of them, a memorial has been installed and was inaugurated in the presence of Suffolk Regiment veterans on June 6, 1989.
The association "Les Amis du Suffolk Regiment" was created for the occasion, with the support of the town, both to honour veterans and maintain the memorial.
The association, composed entirely of volunteers, has expanded since its inception, first by the restoration of several other bunkers, then by the development of the whole "Hillman" site......

Each year “Hillman” opens its doors for the D-Day celebrations, during the summer and during Heritage Days, allowing the public to discover the site. The association has set up an exhibition in one of the bunkers and organizes a program of guided tours of the site ...
